Apex Companies is a growth-focused environmental & utility construction company, offering services in stormwater system construction and maintenance. We are accepting applications for a traveling Utility Construction Technician 2 in Fort Worth, TX .
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in stormwater utilities, water/wastewater management, or related fields within industrial or commercial sites. Strong familiarity with interpreting plan sets, proficiency in heavy equipment operations and a comprehensive understanding of OSHA safety regulations are essential. Your Responsibilities as a Utility Construction Technician 2: Repair and construct stormwater infrastructure, concrete structures, underground utilities and stormwater basins throughout the central states Operate hand-held, power tools and construction equipment (skid loader, excavator, dozer). Travel is Monday-Friday, 85% overnight travel (lodging expenses, $55 per diem, and a company vehicle is provided for travel reimbursement) Learn to develop construction and regulatory compliance techniques. What we're looking for: GED or High School Diploma. 2-4 years of construction experience. Overnight travel 85% of the time. Experience with operation of construction equipment (e.g. skid loader, small excavator), power tools and concrete hand tools. Basic understanding of plans and specs. Prior experience with repair and construction of stormwater infrastructure, concrete structures, rebar and concrete finishing, underground piping and detention/retention basins is a plus. Able to perform manual labor, Lift and carry 60 pounds, work in confined spaces and under inclement weather conditions. Knowledge of stormwater & sediment and erosion control. Thorough understanding of safe work practices in accordance with OSHA regulations Comfortable using pickups and equipment trailers while understanding DOT requirements.
