Job summary
The University Advancement Business Officer is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of University Advancement, including budgets/finance and human resources.They provide financial and human resources oversight and serve as the liaison with the university's HR office and finance/administration.The position requires a master's degree in business or public administration and 1-2 years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience.

Responsibilities
• Administer and manage the human resource and talent management affairs of the division.• Develop and maintain comprehensive strategies for attracting, screening, and persuading talented hires.• Streamline hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes.• Develop and maintain communication strategies to enhance workforce community.• Develop and maintain programs for talent retention and engagement.• Serve as the division HR resource for interpreting policies and procedures.• Work with department directors to establish annual budgets and review funding requests.• Set up, maintain, and monitor division budgets and funds.• Serve as the P-Card coordinator and reviewer/approver for University Advancement.• Process budget transfers, expenditures, and reconciliation reports.• Serve as divisional liaison for contract review and vendor matters.• Train and instruct divisional employees on finance, budget, purchasing, and payment procedures.• Assist the Assistant Vice Chancellor with special projects.
Requirements
• Master's degree in business or public administration, or bachelor's degree with related experience.• Preferred: 5+ years of experience managing a revenue-generating department in higher education.• Preferred: Knowledge/experience using Ellucian's Banner HR and Finance modules.
