Job Summary:
As an Underwriter at [Omitted], you'll play a pivotal role in assessing risks within a designated book of business. Working under technical guidance, you'll handle assignments of significant complexity, ensuring adherence to underwriting policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review applications and financial documentation for risks requiring advanced underwriting skills, determining their acceptability based on company standards.
- Conduct financial and competitive analyses to determine appropriate pricing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare quotes and address inquiries from agencies, policyholders, or external contacts, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Negotiate with agents to achieve positive and profitable outcomes, while maintaining effective communication channels.
- Communicate underwriting decisions, requirements, and status updates to agencies, providing timely feedback.
- Analyze risk quality, quantity, and profitability, generating reports for management review.
- Actively market products and services through agencies or brokerage channels, fostering and maintaining relationships.
- Provide guidance to fellow underwriters and other functional areas, particularly regarding cross-sell opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market developments, sharing insights with colleagues.
- Utilize advanced functionalities within relevant systems to streamline day-to-day activities.
- Collaborate with senior underwriters or management on risks exceeding authority level or requiring specialized handling.

- Demonstrated proficiency in technical expertise and product knowledge.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; professional designations preferred.
