Responsibilities
• Examine insurance applications, conduct research, and make risk assessments• Negotiate with customers regarding premium, coverage limits, and terms• Underwrite various types of insurance policies for individuals and businesses• Calculate premiums and establish payment methods• Deliver and explain policies to policyholders• Ensure policy requirements are met• Evaluate property for insurance risk• Create endorsements and coverage documents• Perform administrative tasks• Participate in cross-functional team training
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred• Minimum of three years of underwriting experience• Insurance Associate in Underwriting (AU) Professional Designation preferred• Valid driver's license• No felony, theft, or fraud convictions• Ability to obtain Associates in General Insurance (AINS) designation within first two years of employment• Strong written and oral communication skills• Ability to multi-task and work independently• Knowledge of underwriting techniques and department organization• Ability to provide excellent customer service
