Here's an example. We pay 18% to 20% of the total sale. The average brake pad and rotor sale is $375 and takes less than one hour. You've earned 18% of $350 = $68 in that hour. How many one-hour jobs like that can you finish in one day? Calipers, pads, and rotors per axle are an average of $750... that's $135 per hour. Or a catalytic converter at $400 for another $72.
