Job Overview:

As a Travel Advisor, you will be responsible for assisting clients in planning, organizing, and executing their travel arrangements. You will provide expert advice, create customized itineraries, and ensure a seamless travel experience for clients. Your role will involve staying updated on travel trends, destinations, and industry regulations to offer the best possible service.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Overall travel industry knowledge and experience.

1+ year of Sabre OR similar GDS- knowledge and proficiency required (examples: Amadeus, Apollo, Arrivia).

Competent with all aspects of reservation transactions.

Proficient with International Itineraries and rate structures.

Attention to detail/conscientiousness/flexible.

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Problem solving and initiative.

Interpersonal communication and relationship building skills.

Willingness to learn new functions and to enhance existing skills.

Patience and flexibility.

Handle multiple accounts.

Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality are required.

Responsibilities:

Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their travel preferences, budgets, and requirements.

Itinerary Planning: Design personalized travel itineraries tailored to clients' interests, including accommodations, transportation, activities, and dining options.

Destination Expertise: Stay informed about various destinations, including local customs, attractions, climate, visa requirements, and safety considerations.

Booking Arrangements: Make reservations for flights, hotels, rental cars, tours, and other travel-related services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Budget Management: Help clients manage their travel budgets effectively by offering cost-effective solutions and alternatives.

Travel Documentation: Assist clients in obtaining necessary travel documents such as passports, visas, and travel insurance.

Travel Advisories: Provide up-to-date information on travel advisories, health regulations, and safety precautions for chosen destinations.

Customer Service: Offer exceptional customer service before, during, and after travel, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

Problem Resolution: Handle unforeseen circumstances or emergencies during travel, offering quick and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption.

Promotional Activities: Participate in marketing initiatives, promotional events, and networking opportunities to attract new clients and retain existing ones.

Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from clients post-travel to assess satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.

Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, new travel technologies, and destination offerings through continuous learning and professional development.

Requirements Experience: Previous experience in the travel industry or a related field is preferred.

Destination Knowledge: Strong familiarity with various travel destinations, including popular attractions, accommodations, and local cultures.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and travel partners.

Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and exceeding client expectations.

Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Proficiency in handling unexpected challenges and providing quick, effective solutions.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in travel arrangements and documentation.

Technology Proficiency: Competency in using travel booking platforms, GDS systems, and other relevant software applications.

Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate clients' schedules and travel emergencies.

Education: A bachelor's degree in hospitality, tourism, business administration, or a related field is advantageous.
