About Us The Crossing Colorado is a nonprofit mental health service provider in Colorado, dedicated to delivering compassionate, effective, and individualized mental health care to survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Our team of professionals work with a variety of therapeutic modalities to support individuals in their mental health journeys. We are currently looking for a motivated and skilled Professional Counselor to join our team on a part-time basis.
Position Overview As a Trauma Therapist at The Crossing Colorado you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health services to our clients. The person in this position will provide therapeutic services for individuals of all genders, ages 11-60+ and their families. Clinician has experience working with survivors of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, and those at high risk of being trafficked.
Key Responsibilities CLIENT SERVICES Provides individual therapy for survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation and individuals who are at high risk of being trafficked. All genders, ages 11-60+. Provides crisis counseling and crisis intervention, as needed. Screens for human trafficking concerns. Approaches client care with a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and empowerment focused lens. Collaboration with clients to create and accomplish treatment plans. Assesses each client, establishes individualized treatment goals and methodologies. Coordinates and works in collaboration with other service providers, inside and outside of The Crossing Colorado, within bounds of confidentiality. Work cooperatively with other agencies and individuals involved with the client (e.g. law enforcement, human service agencies, etc.) to assure comprehensive service delivery to the individuals and communities being served. Treats clients with respect, dignity, and empathy. Delivers services in a manner that is respectful and sensitive to the clients' cultural experience and trauma history. Prevents, identifies, and removes discriminatory barriers in services provided. Follows ethical guidelines of the American Counseling Association including keeping all client information confidential as directed by the client. Adhere to all professional and ethical guidelines as outlined by the Colorado State Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners. Attends scheduled supervision with Clinical Director based on the level of experience and credentials. Develop and grow in knowledge of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Provide community education presentations to local groups or organizations based on trauma-informed care models. Provides education and information to clients and their families to support informed choices. Participate in ongoing professional development and supervision to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. RECORD KEEPING Timely intake, assessment, and treatment plan completion. Completes timely DAP notes for each client contact and files them in an appropriate and confidential location. Communicates with, consults with, and follows up on necessary information with the Clinical Director. Collects and compiles client statistics for program management and grant reporting. OTHER Commit to The Crossing Colorado's organizational mission, values, and vision. Keeps updated on professional development and licensure. Attend staff, counseling, other relevant meetings, and trainings. Other duties and projects as requested by Clinical Director. Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or social work; Colorado licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) preferred. Holds an active Counseling License. Experience working with survivors of sex-trafficking, sexual exploitation, and those that are at high risk of being trafficked is preferred. Experience with the assessment of trauma, abuse, and sex-trafficking. Experience with the assessment of mental health disorders. Experience working with law enforcement and/or the criminal justice system preferred. Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), problem solving, listening and interpersonal skills. Good collaborator and team player. Attention to detail. Adaptability and flexibility. Displays a positive attitude, works well with others, and accepts direction well. Able to work well with emotionally taxing content and engage in effective self care. Self-starter; comfortable working autonomously and in teams. Able to independently use a computer for word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, email, internet research, data entry and data management. Possess vision and hearing sufficient to work on a computer, on the telephone and in person. Comfortable working autonomously. Reliable transportation. Must be willing to complete background checks. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Fluency in Spanish and/or ASL preferred. Part-Time Benefits :
