Our team is seeking a transportation planner to serve as a program manager or program coordinator, depending on qualifications. This position will manage the Mobility Program in the bureau's Program Monitoring Unit. We are looking for someone who can embrace the challenges of meeting our core mission and exceeding the standards! As the mobility program coordinator within the BTP, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating Statewide Mobility Program target funding.

As the next transportation planner, you will have opportunities to: Manage future Statewide Mobility Program target funding as the program coordinator. Work with modal offices and mobility specialists to develop Statewide Mobility Program goals, objectives, strategies, and policies in coordination with the MDOT regions and the Statewide Mobility Steering Team. Facilitate and/or participate on a subcommittee that is responsible for project selection and program guidance, ensuring federal-aid funding requirements are followed, and maintaining all pertinent guidance documents for the program. Monitor and report on the state's Highway Capital Outlay program, including trunkline modernization and major investment projects in cooperation and regular coordination with the Bureau of Development Office of Major Projects.  Begin your journey with MDOT today!
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (9) level through the maximum rate at the advanced (12) level. This is currently a hybrid position. In-person work required at least twice a month with some in-person meetings also required. (This policy is subject to change at any time). NOTE: We may consider applicants that will be obtaining a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: planning (city, community, environmental, regional, and/or urban), environmental studies and/or sustainability, engineering, statistics, mathematics, geography, geographic/geospatial information systems, logistics and/or supply chain management, or economics by May 31, 2024. Experience Transportation Planner 9 
No specific type or amount is required.
Transportation Planner 10 
One year of professional experience in the planning and assessment of transportation planner systems equivalent to a Transportation Planner 9.
Transportation Planner P11 
Two years of professional experience in the planning and assessment of transportation planner systems equivalent to a Transportation Planner, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Planner 10.
Transportation Planner 12 
Three years of professional experience in the planning and assessment of transportation planner systems equivalent to a Transportation Planner, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Planner P11.
Project or Program Manager experience desired. Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
