Due to anticipated needs, we are currently recruiting for a career oriented individual to fill this roleRotation Schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-siteReporting to the Senior Advisor, Training & Shareholder DevelopmentResponsibilities:Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresPrepare and update training materials by utilizing established trade knowledge and skills requirements necessary to ensure that trainee's receive adequate training in their specific work tasks to protect their health and safety and competency for assigned tasksEnsure the proper reporting and paperwork is completed in accordance with the Department of Labor standards and regulations for apprentices and journeypersonProvide safety task training for all employees as per MSHA regulations and to ensure employees are properly trained prior to approaching workEnsure pre-testing is in place and completed to ensure quality selection of apprentices into the operation's apprenticeship programOrganize and facilitate monthly apprenticeship meetingsFacilitate classroom and in the field training using the developed training modules, while creating learning situations where trainees can demonstrate competency in advancing their knowledge and skillsMeasure and evaluate trainee performance against the training objectives in regards to competency and self-motivation within the classroom, involvement with specific equipment and project assignments, and spend time on a regular basis performing in the field trainingProvide current status on all training by issuing reportsEstablish Personal Goals and Objectives annually that align with Departmental Goals and Objectives. (These require Supervisor approval and will be evaluated in regards to attainment during Performance Planning and Coaching reviews)Perform other related duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum of five (5) years' experience in mining or related industryMinimum of three (3) years demonstrated training experienceDemonstrated commitment to safety with working knowledge of MSHA standards preferredDemonstrate strong team cooperationPossess good communication skills, both verbal and writtenAble to present to individuals and or large groupsExcellent organization and multi-tasking skillsCommitted to continuous improvementStrong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsAbout TeckSuccessful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a physical assessment, drug screen and a background check.
