Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Program at University of Wisconsin – La Crosse invites qualified persons to apply for a full-time, 12-month, tenure track assistant professor position with an anticipated start date of August 2024. This position is an expansion of the core faculty and includes mentoring clinical graduate students in professional skills and research experiences. New or established educator in the areas of movement science, pediatrics, geriatrics, engineering, neuroscience, epidemiology, and/or acute care with teaching experience and scholarly agenda to complement the existing faculty is desired. The DPT program supports a variety of scholarly and clinical research opportunities ( LIMS – La Crosse Institute of Movement Science; EXPAND – Exercise Program for Adults with Neurologic Disorders; and the Mayo Research Collaborative).

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have or be near to completing a terminal scholarly degree (PhD, DSc, EdD, or equivalent). Degree must be earned by the first personnel review, no later than May 15, 2025.
Preferred Qualifications Tenure Track Desired Criteria: The successful candidate may:
1. Be licensed to practice physical therapy in a US jurisdiction by position start date.
2. Demonstrate experience in higher education.
3. Have clinical experience, teaching and/or research experience in movement science, pediatrics, geriatrics, engineering, neuroscience, epidemiology, and/or acute care.
4. Demonstrate ability to present a positive and professional attitude when dealing with students, faculty and staff, clients, and local community and the national professional community.
5. Possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
6. Have a developing or established line of scholarly inquiry.

The Physical Therapy Program is part of the Department of Health Professions which includes Medical Dosimetry, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Radiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Radiation Therapy. Our program consists of 11 dynamic core faculty and a strong complement of adjunct faculty. We are committed to mentoring new faculty in teaching and scholarship. The department is located in the College of Science and Health.
The Physical Therapy Program is housed in the Health Science Center ( HSC ), recognized for its spacious, well-appointed teaching labs, classrooms, and established biomechanics, human performance, and anatomy laboratories. Our physical therapy program has strong alliances with national, regional, and local medical centers and practices. The program is proud to support the La Crosse Institute of Movement Science ( LIMS ), the Gundersen Sports Medicine Residency Program, the Mayo Research Collaborative, and the Exercise Program for Adults with Neurologic Disorders ( EXPAND ).
