Fayetteville State University (FSU) is seeking to enhance its regional and national footprint in nursing education by adding an eminent nurse-scholar, at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, to the School of Nursing. FSU is a public, comprehensive, Historically Black University located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. FSU is the second oldest public university in North Carolina and is the regional university of choice for students from rural, military, and other diverse backgrounds. Description of Work Continued:: Scholarship -34%: Advance knowledge through innovation and research in nursing sciences. Facilitate the development of research, scholarship, and grantsmanship among nursing faculty. Promote a program of innovative scholarship to advance the scholarly missions of the School of Nursing and the University. Participate in the University-wide academic community through interdisciplinary collaborations, programs, and curricula. Collaborate with scientists from other disciplines in a program of funded scientific work. Contribute to local, national, and international scientific communities through collaborations and service activities that promote education and dissemination of information. Collaborate with the Fayetteville area's public, nonprofit, private, and industry partners to contribute to the community. Lead Program Expansion -33%: Participate in enhancing the mission and strategic goals of the School of Nursing. Provide leadership in developing a unified understanding of nursing education, health care, and health professionals that is distinct to the region's needs. Contribute to creating a nursing consortium dedicated to education, service, and research for the School of Nursing and the community. Engage in outreach and partnership activities with the professional nursing and healthcare communities on behalf of the School of Nursing and the University. Teaching and mentoring -33%: Mentor faculty in their career development as scientists, teachers, and scholars. Teaching expectations will be no more than 4 credit hours per semester. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of the School of Nursing and Dean of the College of Health, Science, and Techno Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:: Possess an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field with at least five years of experience in nursing education and Eligible to meet the rank criteria for Associate or Full Professor at the time of hire. Knowledge skills and abilities:: A proven record of expertise in grant procurement, research, and scholarship is required for this role. A positive and approachable demeanor, as well as the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, are essential. Moreover, the candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal abilities when interacting with patient care professionals in the FSU service area. A deep commitment to preserving and advancing FSU's HBCU legacy, mission, and culture is essential. Additionally, the candidate must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
