We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at ABS Tag & Title! We are looking for an Auto Title Clerk to type information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy, fast typist with keen attention to detail, which is necessary for their success because it aims to preserve company records while managing paperwork effectively. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory. The company will rely on you for having accurate and updated information that is easily accessible through a digital database.
An Auto Title Clerk is responsible for processing various documents related to vehicle titles, registrations, and other legal documents for the company. The primary duties of an Auto Title Clerk include managing and updating inventory information, processing tag and title transactions, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. They may also be required to work with a variety of people including Department of Motor Vehicles or state agencies, customers, and other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboard Verify data by comparing it to source documents Processes all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled. Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete. Submit all legal registration or transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information and terms of agreement Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to motor vehicle titles and registrations Communicate with customers, dealers, and other stakeholders regarding title and registration inquiries (emails, phone calls, and internal inquiries) Be flexible enough to organize and adapt daily work to changing situations and demands Maintain accurate and up-to-date records Manage paperwork related to title transfers and registrations Assist with other administrative tasks as needed Required Skills and Abilities: Basic understanding of databases Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices Prior experience in a similar role preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Proficient knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (required) Associate degree preferred or equivalent work experience 2 years of previous office and customer service experience Ability to work in a fast-pace environment while maintaining accuracy Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds at times.
