Tennessee Teacher's Certification and license Certification in area Copy of transcripts Must pass TBI/FBI Criminal Background Check The job of Title I Teacher was established for the purpose of improving reading and math achievements though identifying specific skill deficits, teaching to those individual skill deficits using research based materials and strategies, monitoring student progress in order to make adjustments suited to the needs of individual students and communicating with others involved in the students' education. Additionally, the interventionist will assist the principal in ensuring the Title I plan is being carried out at the school and all documentation is completed.
Essential Functions ? Works in the benchmarking and progress monitoring testing platforms to ensure student data is correct and that student are assigned to the correct test(s). ? Proficient in assessing both DIBELS Next and DIBELS Math ? Assists with the administration and coordination of formative assessments, including benchmarking and progress monitoring (Dibels or others as needed), for the purpose of assessing the level of students' competencies in reading and math. ? Analyzes benchmarking and progress monitoring data to identify specific skill deficits to make informed, timely education decisions. ? Consistently communicates formative assessment data to regular classroom teachers and others involved in student's education. ? Oversees the reading and math intervention program at the school, which includes supervising Title I instructional assistants. ? Evaluates materials to determine which materials are best suited to meet the individual needs of students ? Designs lesson and instructs students using tier 2 and tier 3 reading interventions to appropriate students for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study. ? Serves as a member of the school-wide intervention team and consults with teachers concerning interventions being delivered by other staff members. ? Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe an optimal learning environment. ? Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. ? Evaluates student academic progress, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports. ? Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil. Guides planning on the part of instructional assistants. ? Evaluates student achievement for the purpose of placing students in appropriate intervention and support services. ? Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional goals and methods ? Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals and methods. ? Attends and participates in faculty meeting and district Title I meetings and professional development ? Collaborates with a variety of parties (e.g. instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, community resources, etc.) to assist with the creation/revision of school improvement plan for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions, achieving established program objectives and/or and planning curriculum. ? Assists with the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the school's improvement plan and aligns students needs with Title I expenditures/budget. ? Makes presentations on Title I programs for parents, school staff, and outside agencies as requested. ? Maintains records of Title I program: creates summary reports for the program; prepares and submits required local, state and federal reports. ? Coordinates/assists with Title I annual meeting, math and reading nights and sends documentation (agendas and sign-in sheets) to District Title I Director. ? Ensures school-parent compacts are sent out each year and are on file at the school office. ? Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records (e.g. TCAP data, student records, and to gather data regarding proficiency) for the purpose of determining student needs. ? Sets high expectations for student achievement and behavior. ? Assists and supports staff (principals, classroom teachers, special education teachers and instructional assistants) in providing effective instruction and improving student achievement. ? Assists with coordination of parental involvement meetings, workshops, family academic events, curriculum nights. ? Assists with the development and distribution of Parent Involvement Policy and Parent-School Compact. ? Assists with the completion of program documentation and assists in program planning as a member of the Title I Committee.
