To assist with the overall operations of the Thrift Store
Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with all hospital and departmental policies Demonstrates effective communication skills Demonstrates ability to work with volunteers in a support role with a positive attitude Positively represents the organization by displaying a cheerful, courteous, patient, and productive behavior toward the hospital, volunteers, Thrift Shop Manager, and visitors Demonstrates the ability to price, iron 10 or steam 15 average size pieces per hour. Unloads drop- box and assists persons making donations using safety standards. Washes, dries, sorts, irons, prices and stocks merchandise as directed by Manager Vacuums and performs general housekeeping duties as assigned by Manager. Assists with bank deposits as needed Maintains an orderly shop by returning stray merchandise, fixing displays, taking back hangers, and sizing clothing. Assists with seasonal storage and display transition as assigned by Manager. Fills dumpster with discards and trash. Assists with recycling. Works quickly, efficiently, and productively. Manages time well. Works closely with Thrift Shop Manager and Volunteer Services to provide a pleasant, productive working environment among Thrift Shop volunteers, stressing courtesy and teamwork. Coordinates lunch and break time with volunteers and Thrift Shop Manager to make sure Thrift Shop has adequate coverage. Maintains confidentiality of Thrift Shop activities and the lives of Thrift Shop staff, both paid and volunteers. Does not gossip. Does not complain to volunteers or customers about Thrift Shop issues. Strives to maintain a positive and pleasant work environment. Assists manager with scheduling of volunteers. Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks in the absence of the Thrift Shop Manger. Shows respect and appreciation for volunteers. Required Preferred Education: High school or equivalent
Experience: Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
