IDEA Assistant Principals of Instruction (APIs) are instructional leaders who manage, coach and develop teachers to achieve ambitious results with students.They monitor student progress to ensure all students are on-track for college.This posting is for gathering information to assess fit and move quickly once an opportunity becomes available.

Responsibilities
• Lead instructional staff to achieve measurable and ambitious results• Improve teaching quickly through observations, coaching, data conversations, and evaluations• Supervise the implementation of IDEA curricula and assessments• Review and provide feedback on teachers' lesson plans• Develop strategies to achieve goals based on data and opportunities• Communicate student progress with students and families• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families• Utilize technology for communication and education• Support behavior management and character development• Create a productive and enthusiastic learning environment
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred• At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience• Teacher leadership or administrative experience required• Proven track record of success in the K-12 setting• Experience managing/coaching others preferred• Knowledge of core academic subjects and ability to pass an IDEA content assessment• Ability to coach teachers on curriculum and instruction• Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills• Ability to adjust and adapt in the school environment
