Overview The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.
We are seeking a skilled Test Technician to join our team at our facility in Danbury, CT, 06810. As a Test Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our products. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, as well as experience in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities Provide technical support to engineerson moderately complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment
Responsible for testing, modifying, reworking, and repairing electronic, optical and mechanical assemblies
Work from moderately complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches
Ability to coordinate several activities at the same time, and to reprioritize in response to changing operational conditions
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations
Perform Key Performance Indicators:
Meet production deadlines Quality of finished product (Pass/fail rates) Raw material stock levels Compliance outcomes Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications Requires an associate's degree and 2+ years of experience in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and wire lists Must be able to follow written and oral instructions Must have good mechanical skills Soldering and wire bonding experience, preferred Must have knowledge of various test equipment Must pay close attention to details Must be able to comply with all safety and procedural rules Must have a basic knowledge of and ability to use computers, programs, and business tools Experience utilizing computer applications, including Access, Excel, and Labview, preferred MRP experience, preferred Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. *Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
