Overall Requirements: Our Engineering Department is seeking a seasoned Test Engineer Supervisor who has in-depth practical knowledge of legacy to current telecom equipment platforms produced by; Nortel, Ciena, Ericsson, Tellabs, Cisco, Nokia, Fuji etc. The incumbent will be responsible for directing and leading the Engineering team in Ottawa and Dallas to ensure we meet our on-time delivery and quality objectives.

Knowledge of Telecom Systems: Understanding concepts behind OSI, ETH, LAN, WAN, PSTN, PCM, DS1, DS3, T1, E1, SONET, SDH, TDM, ATM, DWDM, CWDM, OADM, etc. Solid understanding of various network topologies and architectures Knowledge of various types of communication building blocks such as terminals, cross-connects, repeaters, amplifiers, optical channel interfaces, transponders, supervisory channels, etc. Proficient in using advanced communication test sets and selecting specific parameters for running various types of traffic and bit error rate measurements, using OTDR, etc. Solid understanding of analog telephony and Plain Old Telephone Service Running system diagnostics, systems commissioning and provisioning, advanced systems configuration, debugging and general troubleshooting
Responsibilities: out configuration and setup test requirements for a wide range of telecom equipment platforms Integrate and maintain complete test solutions including test equipment selection Troubleshoot, determine platform requirements with little technical documentation, and provide guidance to procurement Participate in NPI introduction and assist with estimation of cost and effort to introduce new platforms to repair processes Develop and document testing instructions, configuration, and methodologies for the assigned platforms prior to their release into engineering and repair operations Collect KPIs on the team (OTD On-time delivery, CU Capacity Utilization and Quality) Be the first line of resolution for the team Manage and Provide Leadership Supervise and communicate goals and objectives with the team Assign tasks and due dates for projects with the engineering team Lead the engineering team to ensure daily objectives are achieved Develop and build a collaborative engineering team across two locations Conduct sunrise meetings with the engineering teams in both locations Diffuse conflict within the team Complete performance reviews Train floor technologists on new platform test procedures Respond to emails in a timely manner Education & Experience: A bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline and/or 5+ years of relevant experience Additional Qualifications Must be able to travel once a quarter (Ottawa, Canada) Must have valid passport or passport card Understanding RF and Wireless Communication Systems would be an asset Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook) Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, time management and documentation skills Ability to multi-task and must be organized Health and Safety conscious Renaissance Repair & Supply values the diversity of our workforce.
