Job Summary
The Engineering Test Department is part of the Engineering development team. This team works hand in hand with the development team to validate/verify their work product. The test department is responsible for the design, development and execution of manual and automated test cases that are used to validate the features and functions in development. The test department will collaborate with Development Engineering and Product Management to develop their test strategy. All test activities will be executed according to project plans and schedules, while adhering to defined quality requirements and reported through established tracking tools and systems.
Responsibilities : Execute test cases, at black box, grey box, and white box levels Collaborate with other testers in test procedures, processes and best practices Execute long duration tasks and assignments according to project plans, to meet schedule, resource and quality requirements Log and track defects using the designated tracking system and tools Participate in peer and external reviews Engage in test result analysis and test report creation Help develop cooperative relationships between the test team and individuals/groups that interface with the test team Requirements : Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or Related Technical Field and 2 or more years of related experience OR equivalent relevant work experience that demonstrates mastery of the concepts and skill listed Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities. Proven verbal and written communications skills in English Understanding of test methodologies and techniques Demonstrated experience working with Test and Defect Management/Workflow tools Experience with command line protocols such as BASH Experience in network protocols such as SNMP, IPMI, SMTP, and LDAP a plus Understanding of database architecture/concepts Basic understanding of Linux operating system is a must Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies Experience working with REST APIs (Postman scripting) is a plus Experience in scripting languages (VBScript, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Shell, etc.), is a plus
