Clark College is currently accepting applications for a Tenure-track Welding Technology Professor whose primary teaching duties will include lecture and laboratory instruction in automatic and semi-automatic welding processes: Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) on plate, pipe and tube, as well as Carbon Arc Cutting- Air (CAC-A), Manual and CNC Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC), Oxy/Fuel Cutting (OFC) blueprint reading, fabrication, welding inspection and testing. The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of instructors to fulfill the needs of a growing department. Department and College service work is expected with the position (as assigned by the division or College) to support the institutional mission and goals, foremost being student success and retention. This position begins September 13, 2024.

Advise and assist students in their educational and career development.   Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.  Pursue professional development to stay current in the field. Obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification requirements. Participate in program, curriculum development and assessment activities. Work collaboratively with colleagues, businesses, advisory committees, and other educational partners to create unique learning opportunities at Clark College. Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees. Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds. Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College. Work cooperatively in a variety of department-level activities and college or company-wide projects.  Pursue professional development to enhance teaching and learning in the department and College. POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Instruct classes in safety, welding, oxy/fuel, plasma cutting, safe equipment use, and other entry level theory for the welding industry. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: Ten (10) years of experience within the welding/fabrication industry to include any accredited training in welding/fabrication, or related field.  Two (2) years of teaching and/or training experience in a learning environment.  Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.  Supervisory experience of industrial workers or faculty, to include employee/faculty hiring, evaluations and/or training. Able to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols. Ability to operate press brake and calculate bend deductions. Ability to work well as a member of a team. About Clark College
