Position Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant position with the department of Neurology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under direction, performs and assists with technical laboratory procedures and analysis in support of specialized research activities of the laboratory. Assists in the set-up and conduction of experiments, as required.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: Participates with analysis of the brain of mice modified genetically or treated with neurotoxins using morphological and biochemical assays. Carries out in vitro differentiation of iPSCs into neurons. Performs basic laboratory experiments in in vitro systems to study proteins and their functions. Assists with development of methodologies to express proteins in cultured cells. Assists with cloning specific genes needed for various studies to address the above objectives. Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science. Prior research experience an asset. Experienced in Microsoft office. Experienced in database management. City: Piscataway
