As a Technical Specialist, for Chassis Mechanical, you will lead the design of components that control lateral, longitudinal, and vertical control of world leading electric vehicles. You will engage with attribute groups and other system owners to make premier suspension structures from concept to production.The RoleDesign and develop components from initial concept to productionEstablish requirements for components based desired vehicle attributesPlan the technology roadmaps for future vehiclesDesign with excellence at system and component level, with great attention to every detail Provide technical support to guide your teammates to do the sameWork closely with both internal teams and externals suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possibleCoordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designsManage multiple complex projects in a demanding environmentQualifications5+ years of automotive industry experience, mostly focused on chassis mechanical designPersonally designed components from concept to productionHands-on practical experience in prototype assemblyExperience in technology, system, and supplier selectionProven 3D CAD, project leadership, and mentoring skillsDesign release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experienceTravel domestically and internationally up to 20% if neededAdvantageous10+ years of automotive industry experienceExperience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, NVH, and vehicle crash safety principlesAbility to run and teach others to use CAE analysis toolsExperience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theoryEducationBS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering
