What You Will Do
The Supply Chain and Logistics division (SCL-DO) needs a Technical Project Manager (TPM). Specifically, the TPM will report into the Strategic Alliance & Continuous Improvement (SACI) team that reports directly to the division office. In this capacity the TPM must successfully work with management from cross-functional organizations such as IQPA, PAQ, AMPP, PT, C-AAC, MST-16 and PF to lead and manage projects supporting the SCL-DO mission. The details of the required scope are summarized below.
To manage and lead these projects, the ideal candidate would possess the ability to map out and develop process flows, along with developing and implementing standardized cross-organizational processes, procedures, specifications, tools, and training. The TPM will establish integrated project teams and play an active role in the creation of work- week management schedules. The TPM will assist the SCL division in meeting its scope goals and priorities to ensure material is ordered, received, and inspected to meet external customer specifications and deliverables/milestones. The selected individual may develop methodology for identifying components sources and critical path components. Assist in developing a standard method of procurement that is driven by long term planning and project schedules. Meet routinely with stakeholders and continuously work with forecasting their needs and priorities.
Additional projects and/or work assignments will include work with Project Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Procurement Quality Engineers to develop comprehensive Bill of Materials to include critical supply chain information including procurement quality levels, specifications, kitting, and min/max needs. Partner with the SCL-2 Warehousing team to develop a comprehensive material tracking system for procurement through material acceptance and delivery to include requirements for material compatibility testing. The TPM will work cohesively with the first line managers, group leaders, and division-level management of SCL division and will develop reports for senior leadership and related parties on execution strategies and performance.

Entry-level knowledge of project management of technical or operational work, including developing project plans and work packages; managing to scope, schedule, budget, and technical baselines; and documenting baseline reports and change control actions.
Technical Project Manager-2 $99,200 - $164,100
Working knowledge of and demonstrated experience in aspects of project management of technical or operational work, including developing project plans and work packages; managing to scope, schedule, budget, and technical baselines; and documenting baseline reports and change control actions. What You Need Minimum Job Requirements:

Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead and monitor team efforts to completion. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel; building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflict.

Ability to communicate program requirements and detailed elements to management and personnel. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications as well as presentation skills with various stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to manage customer interface with program, line management and executive leadership as well as external interfaces. Exceptional customer service skills and ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes, stressful situations.
Business Software/Systems
Advanced user of business and operations systems and standard software applications (i.e. Microsoft and Adobe products).
Organizational Skills
Possess high attention to detail including excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking, observational skills and problem solving skills all to include high accuracy. Proven ability to effectively and independently manage multiple, complex and overlapping tasks and adjust to the workings of a dynamic and cohesive fast-paced team environment.
Education/Experience at lower level:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Education/Experience at higher level:
Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and five (5) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Desired Qualifications: Project Management Certificate Certified Lean Six Sigma Practitioner Initiation of the Project Management Institute certification/ program management course work and/or award of certificate. Clearance: Active DOE "Q" clearance. Work Environment: Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice. Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
