Job Description SummaryThe Digital Engineering Technical Leader (tech lead) architects and organizes engineering design and process tools across multiple engineering disciplines. All the disciplines are contributing deliverables into the federated model of a new nuclear power plant project. The tech lead collaborates with other tech leads to orchestrate deployment and operation of a common data environment for each new project.The tech lead will plan, assign, and align staff within programs of activities. The tech lead delivers technical work, typically specifications, protocols, and architecture diagrams. The tech lead is responsible for establishing standard work practices, reviewing work product of others, and providing coaching/mentoring to less experienced team members.Preferred work location is GE Hitachi Nuclear headquarters in Wilmington NC, but highly qualified remote (US Based) candidates will be consideredJob DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesAs the Digital Products Technical Leader, you will:Analyze, design, and develop solutions that improve performance of engineering teams delivering their work products.Use Lean principles to drive continuous improvement, create visible workflow, establish prioritized work cadence, identify and drive value for the businessDrive acquisition, evaluation, and improvement of software applications supporting multiple engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Plant Arrangement, etc.).Communicate your initiatives across teams and layers of the organization.Lead collaborative efforts with business partners and other team members and functions (IT, Sourcing, ProjectManagement, Engineering, Cyber, Finance, Legal, Quality)Highly attuned to conformance to safety, cyber-security, nuclear quality assurance, and system architecture standards.Mentor and train engineering team members in software engineering applications and platforms, configuration, and use. Be a trusted oracle sought out for consults on sticky design problems.Operate at multiple levels of abstraction in the system. High level data flows and modules. Mid-level services and protocols, low level code.Demonstrate business acumen, know latest industry trends, and have a reputation as trusted point of contact on the product and competitive landscape.Interact with customers and stakeholders translating unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable activity.Work cross-functionally with matrixed teams to deliver features and significant products.Demonstrate leadership through influence to create an environment of trust among customer, product manager and engineering teams.Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding of project priorities.Demonstrate comfort with ambiguity and an agility to change directions quickly.Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering rolesMinimum 8 years of experience with Engineering Design Tools, Software Quality, Infrastructure Support, Application Support, Infrastructure Support, IT Project ManagementDemonstrated at least 6 years of experience working in a technical discipline in planning, designing, engineering or construction of large capital projects.Eligibility RequirementsThis role is restricted to U.S. persons(i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.Preferred work location is GE Hitachi Nuclear headquarters in Wilmington NC, but highly qualified remote (US Based) candidates will be consideredDesired CharacteristicsWorking knowledge of industry cyber standards (inclusive of CFR 810 Export Control).Demonstrated experience in information management framework BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650 and CFIHOS standards) and setting up a project delivery digital common data environment (CDE).Familiarity with applications for requirements management, document management, scheduling, 3D modeling, and asset management.Demonstrated proficiency in implementation of engineering related software tools, including Software Development Lifecycle.Experience with change, configuration, document / drawing management.Experience in a regulated industry such as: power, process, marine, medical or oil and gas but preferably nuclear under a 10 CFR 50 Appendix B Quality Program for safety-related systems, structures, and components.Demonstrated training or proficiency in software systems architecture.Knowledge of nuclear business products, business processes, customers, and competitive environmentOperate at a senior level within the organization.Project management training & experience with enterprise scheduling tools such as PrimaveraExcellent writing and verbal communication skillsClearly and confidently communicates based on deep understanding.Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure.Strong team building skills.Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships.Ability to manage multiple high priority demands simultaneously.Process oriented with ability to facilitate continuous performance improvement.The salary range for this position is $112-158k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
