Georgia-Pacific's Software Engineering & Integration team (SE&I) is seeking a Technical Lead to join the team in Atlanta, GA. You will work with a global team of engineers delivering software solutions that support GP's Wood & Fiber Supply (WFS) team. WFS sources lumber on behalf of our facilities, which is a critical input to all our manufacturing processes. The suite of applications maintained by the team support corporate and facility-specific capabilities, providing a variety of experiences and opportunities to obtain knowledge of our business and impact WFS' performance. GP's Software Engineering & Integration team's core competency is designing, building, delivering, and maintaining custom software solutions. We recently initiated our transformation journey, creating functions and capabilities that enable engineers to have major impacts on GP's business performance. We seek to build functionality once, so engineers are encouraged to re-use their peers' work and modify then scale it to meet new use cases. We focus on delivering profitable business outcomes by partnering with business analysts, delivery leaders, and quality engineers to build the right solution at the right speed. What You Will Do Engage with customers, partners, and peers to build and deliver custom software solutions that support high-value business outcomes. Participate in support for critical applications, which includes consulting, responding to tickets, and break/fix execution. Define architecture for large enhancements and new/refactored components. Identify, design, and delegate technical tasks needed to deliver a desired business outcome. Participate in the talent selection process for engineers in the team. Provide recommendations for technical spikes that reduce technical debt, modernize components, increase security, and enable faster feature delivery. Mentor other engineers in the team, leading code reviews and helping them troubleshoot blockers. Be the voice of the team in backlog grooming and planning activities. Oversee quality of and contribute to the team's knowledge bases. Identify opportunities to contribute reusable assets to GP's enterprise solution accelerators repository and help team members execute. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) At least 8 years of experience developing software applications using VB.NET or C# Web Forms or Windows Forms. At least 8 years of experience with SQL Server database development (design, tables, views, stored procedures). At least 3 years of experience working in an agile delivery team. At least 3 years of experience building and supporting applications built on AWS. What Will Put You Ahead Experience developing applications using React. Experience establishing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines and other automation components in a DevOps process. Experience developing mobile applications. Experience managing web applications running on Windows Server. Experience developing applications in a distributed delivery environment. Experience integrating applications with PLCs. Experiencing writing unit tests for critical functionality.
