Summary The Technical Instructional Designer will identify the performance, skills, knowledge, information and attitude gaps of a targeted audience and create, select and/or suggest learning and/or multimedia experiences to fill these gaps, and evaluate their impact on learners and the business. The incumbent will maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities Essential Functions

Work with subject matter experts to identify the target audience's training needs and convert them to meaningful content (job aids, presentation decks, online learning modules, curricula, and programs) that fills those needsEvaluate complex business processes and requirements for new and existing initiatives, extract key learner behavior and knowledge requirements, and construct learning modules to ensure efficient, effective knowledge and skill transfer Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content for in-person instructor-led, live online, and hybrid settings Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process, engage the learner, and reinforce learningDevelop, design, and edit online material and assessment toolsCreate supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc.) to fulfill learning objectivesTroubleshoot technical problems related to learning management system (LMS) via reported user issuesVisualize learning points through appropriate graphics, user interfaces, and course collateral (online and printed) Additional Functions
Analyze and revise existing instructional material to meet adult learner needsOversee implementation of online and instructor-led learning programsWrite unbiased survey (Kirkpatrick Level 1) questions to assess learner reaction to learning modules and take focused action based on resultsDevise modes of assessment, such as knowledge checks or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course (Kirkpatrick Level 2)Work with stakeholders to measure and report behavior change (Kirkpatrick Level 3) of learners over timeAnalyze and apply trends and best practices in adult learning, learning technologies, and instructional designSet clear learning objectives and create content that matches themMeasure effect of learning events on business KPIs (Kirkpatrick Level 4 and ROI measures)Maintain project documentation and course folders Requirements Previous working experience in instructional design for 5 years+Experience with learning management system (LMS) administration for 2 years+ (LearnUpon preferred)In-depth knowledge of learning theories, including Bloom's Taxonomy, and instructional design models, including ADDIE and/or SAMProficiency with Articulate Rise and Storyline or Adobe Captivate, Canvas, Camtasia, or other online course authoring tools Experience editing audio and video in support of learning objectivesDemonstrated lesson and curriculum planning skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint; ability to quickly learn and utilize other company applicationsDemonstrated ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and audio/video scriptsStrong project management and organization skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and project simultaneously Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in education, organizational development, instructional systems, human resources, business, or related field from an accredited university, or equivalent experience preferred5+ years of experience using course authoring toolsCorporate training experience is preferredBanking Industry experience preferred but not required Basys provides technology and payment integration solutions for businesses across the country and Canada.
