POSITION OVERVIEWHighly skilled Mining Support Equipment Trainer that will perform on the job training to advance the skills and ability of the diesel-electric mechanical work force while demonstrating the tasks associated with the removal, repair, installation, system analysis, diagnosis, advanced troubleshooting, and system/process optimization of various Mining Support Equipment (Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Mobile Cranes, Track and Rubber Tire Dozers, Graders). This position is a hands-on assignment that will work side-by-side with the workforce to ensure knowledge transfer and the use of best practices in the diesel electric mechanical field.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Provide individual mentoring and training for the Diesel Mechanic work force.• Review and update standard operating procedures and job task instructions.• Recommend and assist in the development of action plans to continuously improve the mechanical repair process and reliability.• Continually reinforce best safety practices, company policy and ensure that the work force knows the hazards associated with working around mechanical and electrical systems.Operate a computer/Laptop and use maintenance diagnostic computer systems diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment including LINCS, CAT IT, S.I.S. • Advance the skills and ability of the Diesel Mechanic work force by instructing and demonstrating the ability to remove, repair, replace, test, analyze, diagnose, advance troubleshoot, and optimize:o Mechanical Systems for various sizes and models of Track Dozers , Graders, Loaders Track hoes, Back Hoes, Skid Steersand other various Support Mining Equipmento Electrical repair experience, as in LINCS, GE Drive Systems.o Propulsion and Retarding Electrical systems on Mine diesel electricloading equipment as in Komatsu [Letourneau] L1150, L2350, or similar equipment and systems.o High-Pressure Hydraulic Systems.o Tier 3 & 4 Engine & Exhaust Systems.o G.E.TKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES• Proven work experience as a Mobile Equipment Mechanic, Maintaining and Repairing various sizes and models of Track Dozers, Graders, Loaders Track hoes, Back Hoes, Skid Steers, and other various Support Mining Equipment.• Knowledge of Tier 3 & 4 Engine and Exhaust systems.• Knowledge of High-Pressure Hydraulic systems how they work how to troubleshoot and how to repair.• Knowledge of different types of G.E.T.• Operate a computer/Laptop and use maintenance diagnostic computer systems diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment including LINCS, CAT IT, S.I.S. Cummins & Detroit Diesel.• Proficient use of Oxygen/Acetylene Torches for Cutting and Heating.• Ability to identify petroleum products usage and disposal.• Knowledge of procedures and positioning for checking fluid levels on all mine equipment.• Knowledge of oil sampling and coolant analysis.• Working knowledge of shop, field preventive maintenance process, and field fueling procedures.• Must maintain daily service reports, and equipment status reports for technical questions.• Strong leadership skills.• Ability to teach and mentor.• Ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals, drawings, prints, and schematics for installation, troubleshooting and repair including hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.• Ability to lead and complete job assignments in a timely manner.• Mentor and/or train other diesel-mechanic employees.• Ability to be trained and to operate equipment including but not limited to scissor lift, man-lifts, forklift, boom trucks, and overhead cranes.• Applicant must have effective written, visual, electronic, and verbal communication skills.• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety related instructions and procedures given in English.• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.• Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.• Ability to manage multiple tasks.• Ability to think under stressful and adverse conditions.• Must have teamwork, problem solving, and negotiation skills.• The physical requirements of the position are considered Heavy Work: Exerting up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.• The ability to work in conditions of extreme heat, extreme cold, and vibration. May involve work with or near chemicals including but not limited to airborne and/or skin exposure, high noise levels, confined spaces, and heights.• Ability to wear respirator in conditions of fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.• Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, stairs, ramps, and the like with agility.• Availability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays (shifts may be rotating). Mine operations are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year).• Provide and maintain the minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• 5 years related experience as an Industrial Support Equipment Mechanic and certification as a Journeymen Support Equipment Mechanic through a state approved apprenticeship program(or)• 7 years related experience as an Industrial Support Equipment Mechanical experience and associates degree or Trade School Certification in a related field.• Must have high school diploma or GED.• English language fluency.• Air Conditioning CertificationThe Ray mine is located 64 miles southeast of Phoenix and 70 miles northeast of Tucson.
