This full-time, non-exempt position of Technical Coordinator SR is dedicated to maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, and evaluating classroom technology. The position will be housed in the Executive Vice President's Office on the Utah State University Logan Campus. This position will report to the Director of Classroom Technology. Work hours could vary from shifts of 8-5 or 10-7 and may have some additional evenings and weekend hours when needed to meet the position's responsibilities.
Classroom Support and Maintenance (60%) – Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all classroom technology equipment on the Logan campus. Assure high-quality customer service and prompt response to USU staff, administrators, faculty members, students, HELP Desk, and the public with classroom technology support. Working with classroom student employees to perform routine preventative maintenance and repair tasks of classroom technologies. Classroom Installation (30%) – Work as part of the classroom team to install new A/V equipment in classrooms and conference rooms on the Logan campus. Some installation work may occur over weekends and holidays. Training (5%) – Provide training on classroom technologies. Technical procedures and troubleshooting classroom equipment to classroom student employees and the HELP Desk employees. Trains faculty on classroom equipment, including Cisco Systems, Crestron devices, Zoom Room technology, audio systems, laptops and cameras. Classroom Technology Design and Evaluation (5%) – Using the latest best practices, market research, and USU standards design technology-enhanced classrooms. Evaluate the effectiveness of the classroom technology in the teaching and learning environment. Contributes advanced knowledge as part of the statewide tech team to develop and follow the USU classroom technology standards. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree plus four years of experience; or a bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field plus two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required Experience in audio/video equipment installation Experience in troubleshooting audio/video equipment Demonstrated ability to solve problems, work well under pressure, manage multiple/routine tasks simultaneously, take initiative within project scope, maintain confidentiality, and work with little supervision Strong, established track record of exceptional customer service, training, and technology support Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Attention to detail and task completion Excellent PC and Mac computer skills (data entry, Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet) Demonstrated capacity for exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written) Willingness to undertake any necessary training needed to perform job functions or to enhance performance Experience performing classroom installations and maintenance Ability to learn new systems Ability to collaborate effectively with other technical staff in a team environment Ability to train others, both non-technical end-users and technical staff Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, prioritize, and take action Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions Excellent customer service skills Able and willing to travel as needed Along with the online application, please attach:

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. T he employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.

We design, build, and maintain over 250 classrooms, labs, and conference rooms on the Logan, Utah campus.
