Responsibilities
• Interact with patients on a daily basis• Demonstrate good communication and observation skills• Process and document information accurately• Provide structure and safety to the milieu environment• Manage patient behavior effectively• Instruct, assist, and supervise patients in activities of daily living• Support nurses, teachers, activity therapists, and other departments• Follow hospital and unit procedures• Maintain a therapeutic environment• Participate in group and educational programs
Requirements
• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent• One year of experience in a psychiatric setting/patient care preferred• Good communication skills• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand for long periods of time• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions• Good leadership qualities including self-control, patience, and empathy• BLS Basic Life Support certification• Successfully pass background check• Must attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation• EEO statement: Equal employment opportunities for all
