We are currently seeking a Team Lead to join our team based out of our Chaska, MN location . This role will report to the Production Supervisor and work onsite five days per week to enhance our customers' success, and ensure that products are produced safely, timely, and cost-effectively. This role leads our production professionals on the third shift, which runs Monday through Friday, from 10 PM to around 6 to 8 AM. Job Duties and Responsibilities 1. Effectively manages production areas to meet our manufacturing schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
Adapt to schedule and personnel changes to meet internal or external customers' needs and delivery dates. Observe daily production line progress and pre-empt bottle-necks in production. Maintain an active presence on the floor to monitor, motivate, and ensure success. Ensure daily production goals/objectives are met; take action when unmet. Conduct a daily production meeting at the beginning of each shift to communicate the daily goals and
progress to the crews and provide other required information. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of reconciliation, paperwork, and inventory transactions. 2. Ensure effective change-over of lines, tanks, and/or work cells.
Ensure line change-over occurs in the minimum time, with 100% run-readiness. Report continuous or major problems to the Maintenance Dept immediately. Ensure all equipment meets Apex's clean and sanitary standards. Complete required Logs and required administration to ensure compliance with government and company standards. 3. Understand and maintain a "lean action" culture within the department.
Apply and utilize lean manufacturing tools to permanently implement improvements. Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) Verify that MDI boards are being accurately completed and that appropriate actions are taken when results are abnormal to standards. Utilizes daily standard work for self and direct reports to reinforce a culture of discipline and consistent
practices. 4. Manage the shop floor and workstations' safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep.
Ensure that equipment cleaning and sanitation processes are followed and documented. Ensures a clean, organized work environment Ensure OSHA safety requirements are met and that company safety processes are followed. 5. standards. 6. Perform other work as assigned.
Direction and oversight of others: Responsible for Value Stream Area operators. Required Experience and Skills Education and Prior experience
2 to 5+ years in a team leadership role, working in a manufacturing environment. A high school diploma or GED is required. Some college is preferred. Knowledge and skill requirements
Ability to learn and apply cleaning and sanitizing processes. The ability to learn and understand reporting software such as Alliance or other MRP software. Technical Competencies
Uses processes and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of production. Will maintain and grow technical knowledge and expertise. Accurate, precise, and high-level attention to detail. Has a working knowledge of personal computer operation and is proficient with Microsoft Windows 2000 and
Microsoft Office 2000 or higher. Can read and write at a high school level. Understands and can do basic math and algebra to create a spreadsheet report or produce a query. Can read and follow specifications in English. Work Requirement
This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the
business cycle, customer volume of business, and specific sales efforts underway. This position entails work of a cyclical nature and often has a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines. Physical Requirements
Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and grasping. Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) standing and walking. Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement. Frequent (4 to 6 hours) working at a computer terminal. Sensory requirements
Good eyesight, normal hearing, and fluency in the English language. Working Conditions
Indoors, seasonally hot and humid. Will be exposed to various fragrances which may sometimes be at elevated levels. Moving and lifting objects, sometimes 50 lbs. frequently. Work Schedule
This position usually works for 8-10 hours during a shift. However, work hours are flexible and will fluctuate
based on the needs of the business and the customers. Depending on work demands, the job may require a maximum of 5-20 hours of work beyond the normal 40 work-week schedule. The work hours can vary depending on customer requirements and staffing. Benefits • Medical, Rx, Dental benefits
