We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team in a full-time contracted position. This rewarding opportunity involves working with high school students within a supportive school district environment.
Position Details:
Start/End Date: Immediate - End of School Year (EOSY)
Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week
Grade Level: High School
Caseload Size: Approximately 9 students
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive supervision to students while fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Develop and implement daily instructional plans, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs), tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
Collaborate effectively with parents, district and county personnel, and public agencies to support student success.
Assist students with age-appropriate activities and behaviors, promoting independence and skill development.
Coordinate with general education programs to ensure students' academic and social needs are met.
Maintain accurate student records and reports, tracking individual progress and adjustments as needed.
Offer personalized instruction to address students' specific learning goals and challenges.
Monitor student progress closely and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
Prepare various forms of correspondence, including parent notifications and administrative requests.
Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the school district.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Education for Visually Impaired Students
Mississippi Licensure for Education
On-site presence required
