The Legal Division of the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) is looking to hire a Tax Program Technician I (TPT I) in the Legal Administrative Proceedings Team. Under the direction of an Administrator I, the incumbent will primarily be responsible for obtaining and processing federal tax information (FTI) for the Legal Division in connection with appeals pending with the Office of Tax Appeals (OTA) and other legal cases. The duties will include requesting FTI using the federal Transcript Delivery System (TDS), preparing requests for federal documents using Form 8796-A, uploading FTI electronically in Professional Audit Support System (PASS) Legal cases (account transcripts, audit reports, etc.) and completing the required Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tracking logs. The TPT I will also assist in the process of closing of Appeals cases.

Working Conditions
Ø This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
