Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from a four-yearcollege or university with a degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other degree closely related to the area of assignment with twelvecredit hours of accounting coursework or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriatelyaccredited institutions.
Proficient in business applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Strongorganization skills are required to effectively manage moderately complex tax programs and a significant number ofdeadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience with payroll tax remittance andfiling Knowledge of sales and use tax Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The primaryduty of this position is to remit taxes to federal and state agencies and file various tax returns based on established deadlines. Thisposition will also reconcile the financial data related to these taxes to ensure all tax liabilities and refunds are properly accounted inthe ERP system. The details of the essential duties are as follows.
PayrollTax Reconcile and remit payroll federal and state withholdings to the IRS and state agencies for thestates where the University is registered and file the necessary federal and state payroll tax returns Reconcile and remitunemployment tax to the states where the University is registered and file the required unemployment tax filings Assist thesupervisor with withholding tax and unemployment tax registration in other states as needed Assist the supervisor with W-2reconciliations Foreign National Tax Compliance Remit withholding tax on payments to foreign nationals to the IRS on a quarter monthly basis Calculate Housing benefits for foreign national visiting scholars using theinformation provided by OIED and report them to Payroll Assist the supervisor with other foreign nationaltax related matters as needed Sales and Use Tax Reconcile, file and remit sales and use tax on a monthly basis(due on 20th of each month) Prepare and file Form E-585E, State Agency Claim for Refund County and Transit Sales and Use Taxes on aquarterly basis Other Duties Reconcile the liabilities and tax refund receivable accounts for payroll and salestax Document the business processes pertaining to this position's duties and participate in cross-training to ensure businesscontinuity Other duties as assigned Type of Position: Full Time Position Staff/Non-Faculty: Staff/Non-Faculty Appointment Type: 1.0 WorkSchedule/Hours
