Position Summary Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation and the highest level of performance-tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems, including client computer systems, servers and data security systems. Serves as subject matter expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service.

· Deploy and maintain Cisco network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi access points, switches, routers and firewalls.
· Responsible for the maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers and virtualization.
· Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers and integrate automation processes.
· Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems and assessing impact of issues.
· Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
· Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery and failover procedures.
· Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
· Responsible for capacity, storage planning and database performance.
· Other tasks as required by the CIO.

Experience and Education · Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, system administration or a closely related field or equivalent experience required.
Required Certifications · Must possess at least one professional certification from Cisco / Microsoft / VMWare, at associate level or above. · Other certifications are a plus.
Skills · Ability to work autonomously with needed support from CIO.
· Expertise in network and system administration.
· Strong knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server.
· Expertise in managing Microsoft server and associated services such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, NAP, Radius, Certificate Authority, RAS, Remote Desktop Services, file and printer services, etc.
· Strong knowledge in Linux systems and popular open source software including Apache, PHP, MySql, Nagios.
· Strong knowledge in virtualization, VMWare or equivalent.
· Strong knowledge in PXE network boot environments.
· Experience with scripting and automation tools.
· A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
· Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection and disaster recovery protocols.
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
