We are looking for a motivated Systems Administrator to join our team. This position is responsible for monitoring infrastructure, logging tickets with service providers, handling incoming support queries, and proactively maintaining system stability. Provide front of house IT support to all employees, maintaining on-site technology systems, and participating in general IT related projects. Ideal candidate will be a quick learner, self-starter and highly motivated person just beginning their System Admin career or already possessing a year or two in a similar role.
Duties & Responsibilities: Desktop, server, and networking skills are required. With interfacing with support vendors, Kingsmill Resort staff, and guest, a friendly personality is a must. Candidates should have hands-on experience across a broad range of technologies and be comfortable working in the majority of, but not limited to, the following areas:
Virtualization Technology: VMWare ESXi,/ Microsoft Hyper-V
Desktop support in a Microsoft environment
Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first in first out based on priority
Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation
Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot cabling for voice and data systems
Escalate trouble issues to appropriate next tier support vendors or internal support staff to cooperatively resolve issues
Document systems, changes and work completed.
Install voice and data services for groups and support high speed Internet in meeting rooms and guestrooms
Microsoft Windows Server Administration including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and WSUS.
Solid understanding of networking principals including switching and routing (Cisco CLI)
Understanding and deployment of Antivirus software
Understanding of Backup products.
Qualifications: Candidates possessing one to three years of recent IT experience working with a variety of technologies. Demonstrated expertise in working with clients, consultants and multiple technology teams is essential. This position requires someone who is self-managing, able to work independently and capable of completing assignments successfully with minimal direct supervision.
Additional key skills and qualities: Must have a bachelor's degree in a technical field
Must be able to encounter unfamiliar technologies, applications and situations, figure them out, and provide solutions that match both our clients' and our company's needs
Must be well organized, dependable and detail-oriented
Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, agile environment
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred ability to perform terminations, cross-connects and wall plate installations.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Position will include variable hours outside the traditional work week. Including working at least one weekend a month and being part of the weekly on-call rotation.
Must have a proven job stability through strong work history
Must have professional presentation and strong customer service skills
Command of the English language is required
