The Surgical Technology /Sterile Processing Instructor is located in the Division of Nursing and Allied Health Services. This is a full-time position. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Required Education: + Associate Degree from a regionally accredited school required + Bachelor's degree in any field preferred. + Must possess National Board of Surgical Technology/Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certification in Surgical Technology, and have a minimum of three years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or combination of both within the past five years. + Active Association of Surgical Technologist Membership and current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) CPR Certification. Job Concepts The Surgical Technology/Sterile Processing Instructor is responsible for directing, evaluating, and reporting student progress toward course objectives and for the periodic review and updating of course material. This position will monitor students in the clinical areas, teach theory in classroom, and demonstrate clinical skills in the simulation laboratory. Additional faculty members 'responsibilities include advising students, assessing courses, serving on college committees, participating in extracurricular activities, community service, and professional development. Faculty may be required to teach evenings and weekends as well as on-line, dual enrollment, and service learning courses.
