Position Responsibilities: Responsible for obtaining insurance precertification for surgical procedures Communicating with providers and their medical teams as needed Reviewing all insurance information submitted by patients to ensure the submission is made to the appropriate insurance carrier Submitting precertification to the patient's insurance carrier in a timely manner to ensure authorization can be obtained before the scheduled date of service Reviewing patient's medical records to assist with obtaining precertification Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required Strong knowledge of medical terminology, including orthopedic surgery Ability to communicate knowledgeably and effectively with many different insurance carriers daily One year of insurance experience in a medical office is preferred Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record ORA Orthopedics is the Quad Cities' largest and most comprehensive orthopedic provider, proudly offering an integrated continuum of orthopedic care that includes orthopedic sub-specialty clinics, walk-in care at our Urgent OrthoCARE clinics, diagnostic imaging, bracing, physical therapy, pharmacy, and outpatient surgery.
