GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Receiving Inspector is responsible for ensuring daily compliance with all Tyonek policies and government regulations. Position is responsible for performing receiving inspections on all incoming material including but not limited to, aircraft parts and components, GFE/GFP in accordance with Tyonek Policies and procedures, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
DUTIES Determining the acceptability of parts and materials by checking the part number, physical condition, and required documentation (CoC's, FAA 8130-3's, engineering drawings, etc.) Input receiving inspection data into Costpoint (ERP system) to show current status of material. Ensure items received meet minimum shelf life and calibration requirements. Completing required paperwork for routing acceptable parts to stock, or shipping parts to customer. Monitoring discrepancies found during routine receiving inspection of parts and materials for trends indicating quality problems with suppliers; in particular, unapproved or suspected unapproved parts. Maintaining current knowledge of applicable procedures, methods and specifications directly related to the work assignment. Completing documents in a legible, detailed and comprehensive manner. Verify ESD packaging as flowed down on purchase order and comply to ESD procedures for ESD sensitive products. Verify shelf-life requirements and creating shelf-life labels for chemicals, paints, and adhesives. Perform routine warehouse quality audits and monitor the preservation of stored inventory. Complies with all regulatory/statutory, customer and contractual requirements. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent Must have 2-5 years experience inspecting aviation parts Must be a US Citizen Must be able to pass a background check, which could include a criminal history and credit check for access to Government facilities. May be required to obtain and maintain a secret clearance We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools. Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
