One of the key components of the job will be to develop, review, negotiate & manage vendor frame agreements and company-wide contract templates. In this new role, you will provide negotiation, training, and contract-related support for project procurement and administration activities for Kiewit Corp. You will interface with the Project Procurement Managers, Procurement Agents, Project Managers, Legal Counsel, Director of Procurement, and Sponsors for escalated issues. Our key objectives are to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price. We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client's specifications and expectations.LocationThis position is based out of our Lenexa Office. This is a shared service environment in a professional office setting. Relocation is not offered for this position.ResponsibilitiesSupport procurement with (i) identification of mandatory and recommended prime contract flow-down clauses for incorporation into vendor contract templates; and (ii) work with Procurement Managers to develop/review project specific templates. Review project contract templates for adherence to project requirements.Assist in the development/revision of company-wide procurement templates and training modules. Provide as-needed training on negotiation, contracts, and terms and conditions.Manage vendor frame agreement process and Group Teams channel.Provide contract redline support to project teams.Assist with resolution of escalated, complex, or disputed contract issues.Confer with staff and legal group to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.Support procurement staff meetings and provide communications to team as needed.Interface with business, legal, risk, tax, suppliers and internal procurement departments.Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management or equivalent degree preferred, or military/education experience combinationLegal training, or construction project experience preferred 3+ years negotiation experienceProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)Detail-oriented, highly motivated, effective time management skills, and excellent customer service and relationship building skillsKnowledge in risk evaluation, claims mitigation and dispute resolutionHighly motivated skilled communicator (both written and verbal), with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative to get the job done right the first timeMust be willing to travel periodically for periods of less than a weekStrong work ethic, Strong individual contributor and team player with ability to build relationshipsOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.Perform work safely and effectively.
