The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the procurement of direct and indirect materials for Cone Drive, (Traverse City and Ludington) from domestic and international sources. This position also includes managing the purchasing functions, development of new and existing supply chain partners, inventory management, management of distributed products, and driving/supporting continuous improvement projects and of Six Sigma projects.
Responsibilities: Forecasting and planning of material requirements Managing purchasing functions Development of department personnel Driving inventory reduction/control projects Developing standardized scheduling/lead times for Cone product. Coordinating outside processing requirements Maintaining various metrics, such as delivery integrity, inventory turns, etc. Coordinating supplier development meetings with sister plants. Supporting corporate initiatives Reducing material costs Developing supplier agreements on pricing and inventory systems Driving continuous improvement in the areas listed above and working with other departments in support of continuous improvement throughout the operation Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related degree; or equivalent combinatinon of education and experience 5-10 years of Supply Chain experience with proven success in material savings, inventory control, and negotiations Must have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and MRP Mapics experience a plus Candidates must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Must also have proven management skills, organizational skills, and business/manufacturing acumen Six Sigma exposure/experience a plus All qualified applicants shall be treated equally according to their individual qualifications, abilities, experiences and other employment standards.
