Position Summary The Production Control Specialist supervises assigned employees to master planning and shop floor control integrity. You will identify and resolve shortages within current cycle time and improves current production and inventory control systems and techniques in order to improve productivity. You are also responsible for all shop floor control routines, routines to maintain floor stocking levels and over due quantities at all factory administrative work centers.
Job Duties Evaluates and executes decisions to increase, decrease and release shop orders after reviewing master planning requirements and shop floor control.   Priority changes for capital equipment should come from Central Planning.  Responsible to communicate priorities to the plant. Interfaces with Purchasing and vendors when appropriate to expedite parts in order to maintain shop order start dates to manufacturing.  Interfaces with Central Planning to provide status on orders, expedites and shipments. Coordinates, directs and initiates projects to improve efficiency, accuracy and system integrity. Supervises and directs all administrative functions pertaining to assigned department. Liaison between manufacturing and information systems.   Liaison between shipping and Central Planning.  Service priority orders should be requested internally to production control, in order to define priorities in production. Maintains the accuracy and integrity of Shop Floor Control and assigned material planning administration centers. Evaluates safety stock requirements. Support all Company Quality Policies including ISO 9001, EN46001, MDD, FDA, Safety Regulations  and ASME codes Recognize departmental training needs, budgets and conduct training classes as required. Ensures operation and practices conform to safety regulations; JHA, PPE, Working Instruction Training Program. Must be knowledgeable of Good Manufacturing Practices relating to the areas of responsibilities. Active participation of the SAFETY, CONTINUOS IMPROVEMENT and TRAINING initiatives Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma/GED plus four (4) years of experience in planning, purchasing, or supply chain related. Demonstrated knowledge of material planning, purchasing, inventory design and control and other production control systems.  Work Schedule This is a hybrid schedule position based in Plymouth, MN.
