You'll learn more about this during the application process.JOB SUMMARY:Supervises ornamental pest control activities resort-wide to enhance the quality of horticultural environments. Oversees structural pest control service providers to effectively control pests inside facilities and throughout exterior guest and team member areas. Supervises management of bird, mammal, and other nuisance animals and insects.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Develops weekly work plans and prioritizes work assignments among licensed pest control technicians to manage ornamental landscape pests, disease, weeds, and aquatic vegetation.Manages inventories of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and other specialized pesticides. Initiates purchase requisitions for pesticides and associated tools and pest control components.Develops and maintains programs to manage small animal, bird, and nuisance insects that impact operations and facilities.Maintains records of pesticide usage by area and date and updates MSDS files as required by EHS and FDACS.Develops work scopes for outside service providers (contractors) for control of rodents, roaches, flies, birds, and unwanted mammals. Interface with building landlords in all operating divisions including BOH support departments.Provides technical training, safety training including PPE, and equipment operation training for new and current Team Members.Reviews and submits monthly reports to building landlords documenting levels of sanitation and current pest concerns. Provides monthly recommendations to landlords for improved best practices and redirects contractors according to current priorities.Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION:Associate degree (AA) or equivalent in entomology or pest management preferred.EXPERIENCE:5+ years in Pest Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Certified Pest Control Operator's License, Public Health license (State of Florida), Commercial Applicator-Aquatics.Required to obtain Certified Pest Control Operator License within 6 months of employment.Your talent, skills and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.Universal Orlando Resort.Here you can.Universal Orlando is an equal opportunity employer.
