The Materials Supervisor will provide leadership to all material related activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials and services. This role is a key player to assist in supporting Pierce Manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing inventory control and material flow processes and systems across the plant. Provides leadership toward resolving materials management and inventory control issues and leads resolution activities where needed. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Lead the materials team in the assigned facility, taking ownership of safety, productivity, efficiency, and accuracy of transactions and inventory. Review safety incidents and collaborate with Safety and direct reports to establish corrective actions and prevent future incidents. Assist in the development and management of the flow of materials internally, between plants, and offsite warehousing. Evaluate and improve processes used to receive, store, pick, and present materials. Engage in the review and understanding of budget for expenses within the department, including leases, repairs/maintenance, and purchase of material-related equipment. Review and update departmental procedures to ensure ISO compliance. Train employees on materials processes, including but not limited to inventory issues, credits, rejects, receipts, and transfers. Work cross functionally with GPSC, Operations, Finance, Safety, and Quality to optimize processes and performance across disciplines. Review daily shortages due to inventory errors, determine causes and corrective actions. Develop use of technology in systems and processes. Other materials-related projects and assignments as required. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with four (4) or more years of experience within Supply Chain, Materials, Operations Management, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) Leadership experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail Experience with MRP, VMI, and Kanban Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing
