Supervisor I - Materials Management - Full Time - Days Location Oregon, OH : : ProMedica Bay Park Hospital caters to communities east of the Maumee River. Our campus includes a state-of-the-art community hospital with 91 private beds and a professional office building dedicated to doctors' offices and outpatient rehabilitation, as well as a treatment and diagnostic center. The hospital itself was designed with patient comfort and healing in mind, with wider hallways, single-patient rooms and an abundance of natural light. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Reports to the Supply Chain manager and has no direct reports but oversight of day-to-day work.
POSITION SUMMARY This is a working supervisor, under the direction of the Regional Materials Manager. This position plans, organizes and sets priorities of day-to-day operations to meet departmental goals and objectives. Supervises, mentors, and motivates Materials Management employees to ensure all tasks are complete and excellent customer service levels are met. Performs any and all Materials Management tasks as necessary or directed.
ACCOUNTABILITIES *All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*
1. Supervises staff and provides input into employee relations functions such as performance appraisals, recognition, hiring process, discipline, and performance improvement.
2. Develops and adjusts work schedules and job functions to meet the needs of the department.
3. Identifies quality improvement initiatives. Collaborates with department leadership in development, implementation, and monitoring.
4. Performs all Materials Management tasks and service requirements, as needed on a routine basis, as well as provide relief and substitutions for call-offs and ETO.
5. Collaborates with team members in meeting departmental goals. Establishes and maintains mechanism for communication and constructive problem-solving with employees, medical staff, other healthcare professionals and other staff. Utilizes a team approach in decision-making and problem-solving. Builds trust and mutual respect. Supports and promotes decentralized model for decision-making.
6. Functions as a resource for maintaining applicable Materials Management information systems. Make recommendations to manager for process improvements with regards to Materials Management information systems.
7. Assists the Supply Chain Manager in reviewing orders for supplies, material, capital equipment and/or services based on established ProMedica contract standards.
8. Assists in data collection/verification of funding and budgetary expenses.
9. Acts on behalf of the manager in their absence and acts as a resource to department staff and customers.
10. Leads and assists in project teams, educational programs, in-services, and meetings, as required.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills : Must have excellent computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office products. Lawson or other MMIS experience desired. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent mathematic skills. Must be able to lead change.
