Job Title: Summer Event Staff Department: Programming Reports To: Summer Events Supervisor/Programs Coordinator/ Programs Manager Rate of Pay: $15.00/hour Shift: Shifts are from approximately 5:30pm -11:30pm. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly SUMMARY Create a sense of arrival for the Sundance Summer Theatre, Bluebird Cafe Concerts, Bluebird Bands Concerts, and other resort programming events ensuring a positive experience through exceptional guest service. Event dates for the Summer Theatre are July 18 - August 10 Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Including, preview nights on July 16 & 17 and a bonus show on Tuesday, August 6. Event dates for the Bluebird Cafe Concerts are July 5, 6, 12, 13 August 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31 with Bluebird Bands on August 29. Additional event dates may be added. Summer Event Staff may be needed for the Sounds of Summer concert series, which takes place on Sunday evenings in August.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure venues, vehicles, and surrounding areas are clean and ready for guests.
Warmly greet guests at the start and thank guests at conclusion of events.
Provide guests with directions to seating, concessions or restaurants, facilities, or other Sundance locations.
Accurately answer questions regarding the event and other resort happenings.
Load and unload truck pulled trailer ride.
Check or scan tickets prior to admitting guest in venue.
Resolve or communicate any ticketing errors or issues.
Clean-up venue before, during and after events.
Enforce venue policies and procedures.
Assist guests with recycling as needed.
Share the Sundance story of environmental commitment and land preservation with guests as the opportunity arises.
ALL SUNDANCE REPRESENTATIVES ARE EXPECTED TO: Embrace and promote all facets of the Sundance Guiding Principles: vision, mission, service standards, and values.
Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Sundance departments, amenities, and programming ventures.
Be flexible to meet business demands, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage time appropriately.
Work with a broad-based constituency and provide excellent service to all internal and external guests.
Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement.
Support and comply with all Sundance policies, procedures, and standards.
Protect Sundance assets.
Be a positive ambassador of Sundance inside and outside of work.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example: minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wildlife habitats, and carpool with co-workers to minimize carbon emissions. All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.
DRESS CODE Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, managers and supervisors are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard.
All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
Operational managers are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
Clothing must be unwrinkled, clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Blue jeans are permitted.
Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.
A tailored fit is required of all clothing.
Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
Bare midriffs are prohibited.
Proper footwear for your department is required.
Dress sandals are permitted for females.
Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
Tennis shoes must be in good repair.
If your department allows t-shirts, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer proficiency and resort experience preferred.
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS Must possess a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, internet navigation, electronic mail, and two-way radios.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up and/or move up to 25 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee works some of the time in an office with several other employees, and other times works outside at the outdoor theatre. Must work well in an environment with continuous flows of clients entering and leaving the office. Employee works with copy machines, faxes, and printers which can be distracting.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Must be 16 years of age or older.
