Summer Day Camp Counselor

Join the vibrant team at Greenville County Rec, a community-focused organization that operates several summer camps for children. We are currently seeking dependable, responsible, and energetic individuals to fill multiple Summer Day Camp Counselor positions for the 2024 summer season. As a counselor, you will play a crucial role in organizing and presenting a diversified day camp program, ensuring a fun, safe, and enriching experience for our camp participants. Responsibilities Assist the Center Manager, Assistant Camp Director, and additional Greenville Rec Staff in organizing and presenting a diversified day camp program. Supervise program participants to maintain order and safety. Assist with planning camp calendars and implementing daily programs, including games, arts and crafts, sports activities, nature activities, and field trips. Assist with camp/field trip procedures and any necessary administrative paperwork. Assist with the daily meal program. Set up for and clean up after programs and activities, including maintaining activity supplies and materials. Communicate effectively with parents, participants, coworkers, and Supervisors. Qualifications Must be 18 at the time of employment. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of three months relevant experience. Valid state driver's license or state-issued photo ID. Must successfully pass a criminal background check. Must possess or be willing to obtain current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (Greenville Rec will provide this training to staff if necessary). Compensation The starting pay rate for this position is $12.61/hour .
