Summer Camp Kitchen Manager

Kiwanis Scout Camp seeks Summer Overnight Camp Kitchen Manager The Kitchen Manager is r esponsible for providing quality food while managing 2-3 other kitchen staff. Camp serves approx 100 people for 3 days per week, and approx 30 people for 4 days per week.
Compensation: $7,000-$8,000 per season. Compensation will be based on number of days worked and experience. Room/board and utilities are provided, though they are optional. Housing accommodations will be provided within walking distance of the kitchen. If the employee chooses to reside offsite, a private area will be available for breaks. Up to $1,500 scholarship available for camp staff in college that complete a full season. Required Qualifications ServSafe Manager® certification is required. We will pay for training for a qualified candidate. 21 years of age (at start of summer camp season) Food Service Experience Work location: Must be able to live at camp or near camp and commute for the season if you decline. Work schedule: Requires working six days per week, with one day off mid-week (the day off is usually Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). Requires being on site daily from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with an afternoon break. Interpersonal skills: Must have the ability to get along with staff, youth campers, volunteers and vendors, and maintain a friendly and helpful attitude. Must be able to be a team leader, build relationships and communicate effectively to provide good customer service. Must be able to work independently as well as cooperatively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Confidentiality: Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all information dealing with staff, youth, volunteers, vendors, and council. Technology: Must have a working knowledge of computers necessary to run the food service operation. Employee may be trained in custom software as needed. Preferred Qualifications Technical college education preferred. Previous management of kitchen staff. The summer camp season goes from June 6th - August 14th (OFF the week of 4th of July). We are seeking staff who are available to work weekends and weekdays with a weekly day off.
