Substitute teachers play an important role in our schools by stepping in to make sure that quality education, effective classroom management, and school policy and procedures continue in the absence of the assigned classroom teacher. Through our Innovative Substitute Management partnership, CESA 7 and Rachel Wixey & Associates provides a steady pipeline of substitute teachers to the Oneida Nation School to support their teachers, students and the community. Responsibilities of a Substitute Teacher
Ability to accept daily assignments based on district need
Follows lesson plans
Maintains a neat and orderly classroom
Ensures that students are never left unattended in the classroom
Keeps students safe and engaged
Monitors student progress and assists where needed by keeping proximity
Maintains existing classroom management and discipline procedures
Understands building and classroom policy and procedures
Provides written feedback for the classroom teacher
Maintains accurate attendance records
Minimum Requirements (we will assist all viable candidates in the completion of requirements)
Associates or Bachelor's degree from accredited College or University
For non-educators: successful completion of The CESA 7 Substitute Teacher Preparatory Program (online)
Ability to successfully complete required background checks


Compensation
Substitute teachers for Oneida receive $149.50 per work day
