Job Description:Summary:The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams providing electrical study engineering and related technical expertise. Work will include performing electrical studies related to renewable collection systems and high voltage substation designs and preparing design for substations in the electric utility and renewable energy sectors. Tasks may include electrical studies using ETAP, PSCAD, and other software and design of electric substations, including communication, SCADA, and protection and control. The person in this position may also be responsible for managing projects, coaching and mentoring less-experienced staff, providing technical leadership, and managing teams to meet clients' needs. The work may involve short-term out-of-town assignments.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university5 years of relevant experience with electrical studies associated with renewable collection systems and/or high voltage electric substationsRelevant work experience as described aboveWorking knowledge of codes, standards, laws, and regulations applicable to the project assignments described aboveComputer skills and familiarity with Microsoft OfficeExperience working with ETAP, PSCAD, CYMCAP, CDEGS, and/or SKM softwareAbility and willingness to work cooperatively with team members in a high-energy working environment that encourages self-initiativeA flexible working style and a willingness to modify personal schedules as required to meet deadlines and/or client needsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within two yearsValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordLegal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the futurePreferred Qualifications:5+ years of relevant experienceDemonstrated project organization and management skillsClient-relationship and business-development skillsE xperience with substation communication and protection and control designA hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Fort Collins or Wheat Ridge Colorado offices. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, location requirements, and Barr's needs.Colorado Applicants Only:Compensation:The anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,888 - $118,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
