These range from inland surveys to deep ocean seabed exploration and mapping projects.
TerraSond is looking to add an experienced Subject Matter Expert to the team. The Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for assisting the Product Lead in planning, processing and analyzing the specific date set that are assigned to sidescan data processing. Under the supervision of the Product Lead, she or he collaborates with sensor Data Processors, and other SME's to plan, acquire, process and analyze multi-sensor datasets.
The ideal candidate will be based in Houston.
Duties
* Preparation of processed data and coordination of reporting for final deliverables
* Assist where required on field data preparations for offshore use
* Lead teams of data processors to complete deliverables within specification and schedule, ensuring where required teams are working hours/shifts to support the project needs
* Ensure supervision and escalation points are available to all data processors at all times to support 24/7 Global Operations
* Take responsibility for the initial and ongoing training of new employees
* Work with the Production Lead on resolving data quality issues
* Supply support for or answer software related issue or questions that arise
* Forecast equipment and labor needs to the Production Lead to keep work on schedule
* Track progress through the project
* Review and QC Project drawings, detail design drawing and field reports
* Review specification supplied by related project
* Prepare and process job data and perform survey calculation for plots and reports
* Assess existing workflows and continually look for process improvements
* Assist with archiving project data and maintenance of archive logs
* Review field drawing and reports when received from the offshore crew
* Ensure all final deliverables are completed in an accurate and timely manner
* Ensure all assigned onshore work is carried out in accordance with company standards and project specific procedures
Required
* BS or MS in Geophysics/Hydrography/Oceanography
* Experience with hydrographic data processing software
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Initiative (self-starter), requiring little to no direct direction from leadership
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
