Position Summary PLEASE NOTE: Thisposition is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 130miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
UNM-Gallup is searching for an energetic Student Activities &Recreation Specialist to plan, create, implement and sustain a variety ofcampus programs and services related to the student experience. This will include but is not limited tostudent leadership development, student organizations and clubs, co-curricularprograms, sports and recreational programming, and collaborating with otherstudent services departments and college units to coordinate programing aimedat student entry, progression and completion.
Coreresponsibilities include:
Planning, marketing, and implementing student activities Providing advisement, support and oversight for student leadership programs Planning, promoting, and implementing co-curricular programs to include the chartering of student organizations (clubs) and honor societies Overseeing and promoting recreation programs, intramural sports, and eSports; oversees supervision of Physical Education Complex personnel Promoting student life & engagement efforts Overseeing budgets and some procurement Thenature of this position requires flexible scheduling and some evening andweekend presence at student activities and events. Applicants must haveexperience with program planning, strong organizational and leadership skills,experience marketing events across multiple platforms, knowledge of current anddeveloping student retention issues in higher education, knowledge ofrecreational principles and objectives, and the ability to supervise and trainemployees.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years in a supervisory capacity Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of internal and interdepartmental staff and faculty Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines Experience working in higher education Experience with eSports and/or intramural sports programming
